Makeup Product Repairs and Sanitizing

Don’t you HATE it when your favorite eyeshadows fall to pieces?  Don’t toss it! try this instead.

You will need  tissues and a small amount of lotion.

Place a tiny amount of lotion on to a tissue.

Using your finger tip, press the lotion on the powder eye shadow until the powder goes back to it’s original state.

Problem solved!

Is Your Favorite Blush Busted?

You’ll need Vaseline and two clean, small jars (look at The Container Store).

Place the broken blush in to a bowl.

Crush the pieces into a powder.

Place ½ of the powder into one jar.

Start adding the Vaseline small amounts and mix until you reach the consistence of a cream blush or lip-gloss.

Place the other ½ of the crushed blush into the other jar.

You now have a cream blush (or lip gloss!) lip gloss and a powder blush with nothing wasted.

Keeping it Clean. How to Sanitize your Eyeshadows.

Put 99% alcohol (denatured alcohol, rubbing alcohol)  into in a fine mist atomizer.

Lightly Spray the alcohol once over the powder eye shadow palette or single eyeshadow.

Let it dry and your products are sanitized.

IS YOUR MAN’S WARDROBE DRIVING YOU CRAZY

Shopping for your man doesn’t have to be an uphill battle! Audrey has advice on making it a cinch.

Tips to shopping affordably for your man

1) Start a collection with a solid dark suit. That way you can extend your wardrobe by using the suit jacket as a sports coat paired with jeans or khakis. You can use the trousers for a more casual look, when paired with layered knits or a casual shirt and a sports coat

2) Ties: Make sure your man knows how to tie a 1/2 Windsor knot. It’s a knot that will stay perfectly centered. A heavier gauge tie will always sit a little away from the shirt and that gives the tie a very expensive look.

3) Most men don’t like to go discount shopping. So do your prep work and pre-pull the items you like. Put them on hold and bring your man into the store the next day to try them on. That way he won’t feel so overwhelmed.

Wondering if your favorite dress is ruined by that ugly stain

Wondering if your favorite dress is ruined by that ugly stain?  If you have a great dry cleaners — especially if it’s a very expensive item or very delicate — take the garment there immediately! The fresher the stain, the easier it will be for them to remove. If you want to try it yourself, here are a few tips that may save the day!

IMPORTANT TIP ALWAYS USE DISTILLED WATER …..TAP WATER LEAVES A RING AROUND THE STAIN………….

Bloodstains

Try a little hydrogen peroxide directly on the stain.

Lipstick

Blot the stain with white bread to absorb most of the color, then wash as usual.

Chewing Gum

Place the garment in the freezer. When it’s cold, pick the chewing gum off with your fingers or scrape with a dull knife or a credit card.

You can also rub an ice cube or two on the chewing gum and then scrape or pick the gum off.  Then wash as usual.

Candle wax

Same as the chewing gum! Put it in the freezer or use an ice cube to get the fabric as still as possible, then pick or scrape off as much as you can. Place a paper towel on either side of the fabric. Using a warm iron, press on the paper towel over the wax stain. Replace the towels as often as needed to get all of the wax off the garment.

Apply laundry detergent to the stain let it set for 10 minutes then wash as usual.

Again, consider taking it immediately to the cleaners if it’s a pricy item!

Cleaning Patent leather

Spot clean using a cotton ball that has some nail polish remover on it. Rub gently.

Removing ink from washable garments

Spray the spot with a little hair spray or isopropyl alcohol.

Place paper towels on either side of the stained fabric and blot , change the paper towel and blot again. DO NOT RUB! Continue until the stain fades. Wash as usual.

ONE LAST TIP

A Very Simple Solution that you can take with you wherever you go…Remember not all stains are treated the same way.

POP THESE IN YOUR PURSE…They Are Great…

Unlike conventional stain removers, Madame Paulette has taken into account the two most important factors for safe and effective stain removal.Time: The most important! The sooner the stain can be treated properly, the safer and easier it is to remove.

Audrey’s Advice

How to Spruce Up a Little Black Dress (LBD)

It’s a wardrobe must-have. The LBD is always in style and can go from plain to fabulous with just a few additions. First, look for the dress that suits your shape and personality.

An LBD can always look more expensive by adding some eye-catching accessories!

Choose high-heel patent leather or satin pumps.

Add on some shoe embellishments;

Wear a tuxedo style jacket.

Carry a clutch handbag with a jewel closure.

Wear faux diamond studs and a sparkly cuff or bracelet.

Slip on a body shaper to give your LBD a smooth, flawless look.

Try a new style! A halter style dress works on all figure types.

Add a fabulous broach to the back of a backless LBD or a broach at the waist.

Emphasize your face with a great up-do, a perfect smoky eye, and red lip.
